Rules of care and storage
Follow the care rules for paintings and other Artworks for their best preservation.
HUMIDITY
The optimal humidity for storing and exposing Artworks is in the range of 40-60%.
Excessive air humidity, as well as excessive air dryness, can lead to damage of varnish layer without the possibility of its restoration.
TEMPERATURE
The optimal temperature for storing and exposing Artworks is in the range of 18-24 °C.
It is not allowed to place Artworks near heating devices, in a draft or in conditions of a sudden temperature changes.
LIGHTING
Artworks must be protected from the aggressive effects of direct light, especially from direct ultraviolet rays, as they cause accelerated fading and paint layer' destruction.
CLEARING
Artworks should be regularly cleaned of dust and other pollutants with a dry microfiber cloth, a velvet or flannel pad.
It is forbidden to use abrasive materials or chemicals to clean Artworks, as this can cause irreparable damage to the varnish and paint layer.
If Artwork is broken or heavily soiled it is strongly recommended to use professional restorers' help so as not to damage the fragile paint layer.
EXPOSURE
When hanging a painting, it is necessary to use high-quality fasteners and make sure that they are securely fixed, as well as choose the appropriate height and distance from other objects to avoid accidental damage and falls.
KEEPING
If it is necessary to transport and store Artworks temporarily then wrap them with a soft cloth or use a protective soft cover, then place each Artwork in a separate box made of hard carton or plywood, laying inside with elastic materials for fixing.
Temporary storage of paintings in covers is allowed in an upright stable position with support on the frame and with no load on the front side.
